       Make new kernel with an updated driver
=======================================================

1. Before make kernel for your system, you have to download kernel source syssrc.tgz.

2. Install kernel source code, copy syssrc.tgz to /
   # cp /mnt/syssrc.tgz /
   # cd /
   # tar xvzf syssrc.tgz -C /usr/src

3. Copy arcmsr.c and arcmsrvar.h driver source files to kernel source tree
   # cp /mnt/arcmsr.c /usr/src/sys/dev/pci
   # cp /mnt/arcmsrvar.h /usr/src/sys/dev/pci

4. Add a new product entry in /usr/src/sys/dev/pci/pcidevs, e.g. ARC-1214 and ARC-1880
   product	ARECA	ARC1203		0x1203	ARC-1203
   product	ARECA	ARC1214		0x1214	ARC-1214
   product	ARECA	ARC1224		0x1224	ARC-1224
   product	ARECA	ARC1880		0x1880	ARC-1880
   product	ARECA	ARC1883		0x1883	ARC-1883
   product	ARECA	ARC1884		0x1884	ARC-1884
   product	ARECA	ARC1886		0x188A	ARC-1886

5. Regenerate pcidevs.h and pcidevs_data.h
   # cd /usr/src/sys/dev/pci
   # make -f Makefile.pcidevs

6. Make new kernel
   # cd /usr/src/sys/arch/amd64/conf (or /usr/src/sys/arch/i386/conf)
   # config GENERIC
   # cd ../compile/GENERIC
   # make depend && make
   # make install
